received his « Diplôme d'Habilitation à diriger des recherches » at the Université de Paris I (Panthéon-Sorbonne) in 1993. He is presently Scientific Collaborator at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (Belgium), European Director of the Syro-European Archaeological Excavations at Tell Beydar (Syria), President of the European Centre for Upper Mesopotamian Studies, founder and Co-Editor of the scientific series Subartu. His main research interest is Northern Mesopotamia in the third millennium B.C. Among his relevant publications: Tell Melebiya.
